My husband Jake and I were married on Saturday the 1st of May. We were incredibly lucky to be able to get married that day, as we went into lockdown the weekend before, with restrictions only lifted at 12am on the 1st. We then had another case on the actual wedding day, however it was later in the afternoon and just meant staff needed to wear masks. We could not believe how incredibly lucky we were being able to have our dream day when we know so many people have not had that happen for them!
Our photographer was Anni Maria photography (@annimariaphotography), she was absolutely amazing and perfectly captured our special day! We would highly recommend her to anyone searching for that perfect photographer.
We were married at Riverbank Estate Winery in the Swan Valley! This location is so picturesque and gives you that Margaret River feel while only being 20 mins from the city. We hired their clear marquee and had 300m worth of fairy lights hung inside. It was magical and the staff were all so helpful and helped ensure the event ran smoothly! The weather on the day was perfect and it just made the day and the vibe at the venue even more special!
Jake and I had our bridal party photos done before the ceremony, which meant we also did a "first look." It was a special moment for the two of us and allowed us to take everything in before the craziness/ fun of the ceremony and reception. It was a special bit of us time!
We had a fairly small wedding with 65 guests which included close family and friends. We even managed to have friends from interstate make it! The ceremony was short and intimate with one of my brothers walking me down the aisle and our niece being flower girl. After the ceremony we had some family photos and a few sunset shots with just the two of us. We then made our way back to mingle with our guest and enjoy the delicious food and drinks Riverbank Estate provided. The reception was so much fun, my other brother was MC and made the night that much more memorable. For food, we went with Riverbank's live cooking station option which included woodfired pizza and paella, with gelato for dessert. Some of the best wedding food I've ever had! Jake's mum made our cupcake tower and wedding cake. The night then progressed with speeches, our first dance and then partying and dancing well into the night!
It really was our dream day!
