I didn’t really know what I wanted as a wedding dress, I was very open minded.. maybe a bit too open minded as we went through a lot of different styles - thank you Bailey for being so bubbly and patient with me! Archela Bridal was the first store I had an appointment with and the dress I selected so happen to be the second I ever tried on. The moment I put it on, along with my bridal party’s reaction, I knew it was the one. Despite having two other appointments schedule in at different stores, we continued to compare the other dresses to this one. We all knew I was coming back the next day to say yes to the dress! Which is exactly what happened! Once I came back for fittings, I added a little bit of a touch - full length sleeves, which made me fall in love with it even more! I cannot thank Jane enough, my alteration queen, for the patience and laughs each time I came to Perth! I also didn’t realise until later, that the dress was called ‘Raven’ which so happened to be the name of my favourite show I used to watched growing up – ‘That’s So Raven’. Maybe a little sign of choosing the right dress?!...
Everything was perfect - getting ready and having a fun time with my bridal party in the morning, seeing my handsome husband under the arbour for the first time that day, having our mini dachshund as our ring bearer, a surprise garter removal which was not planned until 5 minutes before it happened! Also doing a table dash to have a photo opportunity at each table with our guests and then dancing the night away!
Do what makes you happy! The day is about you and your soon to be husband. Doesn’t matter how far fetch something seems to others, if you both want it, just do it. It may all seems daunting right now, but when you see everything come together on the day, it is all completely worth it!
DO A TABLE DASH WITH YOUR GUESTS!!! You are so busy throughout the entire day, you aren’t able to get photos with every single person, so chuck on a fun upbeat song and just start running around to everyone with a funny pose ready!
My lead up experience was fairly hectic as our caterer decided to cancel the day before, but thankfully our amazing wedding planner was able to save the day and find someone on such short notice. Our bridal party were amazing to be around for majority of the day and just made us feel super loved. Overall it was amazing - we would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
